Summary
"At the height of the Prohibition era, the mob grew rich on our vices, and rivalries between gangs resulted in open war and blood in the streets. But unknown to the masses, a more sinister power controlled the crime cartels, using greed, gluttony, and lust to fuel a much more lucrative trade: trafficking in mortal souls. As the streets fill with corpses and the smell of fire and brimstone, the long-standing feud between two of the demonic crime families is about to end thanks to a 'mutually beneficial' deal to consolidate power. But before things can be finalized, the demonic arbitrator tasked with brokering the deal is kidnapped. With trust in short supply, infernal mob boss Alphonse 'Big Al' Aligheri tasks human fixer Eddie with tracking down the missing demon. With his body and soul bearing the scars of many demonic dealings, Eddie finds himself caught up in the middle of a sinister web of kidnapping, murder, and damnation. Things would go so much smoother if Eddie could just stop getting himself killed."--Page [4] of cover
