Summary
"The South Carolina Exit Exam, which is part of the Basic Skills Assessment Program (BSAP), was first administered in Spring 1986 in order to meet the diploma provision mandated by the South Carolina Education Improvement Act (EIA) of 1984. This mandate, which went into effect in 1990, stipulates that all students must pass the Reading, Mathematics, and Writing subtests of the Exit Examination in order to be eligible to receive a state high school diploma."
