"Spring 1995 was the first administration of the newly adopted Metropolitan Achievement Tests, Seventh Edition (MAT7). MAT7, like the Stanford-8 used in previous years, is a nationally normed standardized achievement test. It provides comparisons to a national sample of students (or norm group) tested in 1992. The MAT7 was administered statewide in grades 4, 5, 7, 9, and 11. In Charleston County all five substests (Reading; Mathematics; Language; Science; and Social Studies) were administered." -- iii
